Karthik Relaunched
2006/09/07
I got good news and bad news for you. The good news is that Karthik has relaunched his website,
Karthik82.com.
It features a fresh layout and some pretty cool features. He claims to have
been inspired by this very site, namely the comments system, but he has actually taken the comments to the next level. If you're a “registered” user, you can enter comments easily by supplying your name and password, plus, you will get a cool avatar image and your name and link details automatically filled in. Pretty cool. But it also makes my simple comments system look old. I gotta work out some really insane feature for Kotogoto in order to get the stick back.
The bad news is that my monitor is showing some near-death-symptoms since yesterday. I think it will break down in the next days. Which puts me in front of the decision whether I want to buy a TFT display. TFTs are cool, but I've had some really bad experiences
with them in the past, like weird color and brightness issues and dead pixels
(which are actually not a reason for refunds as I learned). If I decide to go for one, I
won't buy the cheapest one for sure, but go for a quality display instead.
Another piece of bad news is that I just spent an hour in Flash fiddling with an onEnterFrame-function that works in one file but not in the other (where I need it to work). I think I will never understand Flash's logic.

flash is confusing. i say get one of those damn "learn flash" books. i want one, but i cant seem to find one that looks easy to look through, or at least, one that looks like it is.

Hey thanks man for the mention of my site "relaunch"... and yes, one of the inspirations behind my redesign was kotogoto itself :)
